General Reader Comments
I got a chance to read The Starfish and the Spider on my trip this weekend and I must say it is really great work! It is very well written, clear, and compelling. I especially like the conversational style which is so engaging.
I thought the eMule piece was interesting and thought I might add that the concept has evolved far past eMule in the form of Bittorent. Where eMule is a specific piece of software, bittorrent is a protocol with numerous software implementations on all computing platforms. Just take a look at this to get an idea of how many implementations there are!: Bit Torrent Software.
In some abstract sense, a protocol is even more decentralized than a specific piece of software (witness that it can be implemented on diverse platforms).
